Fly fishing 101 program next week
Ever wanted to learn how to fly fish?
From 6-7:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 28, you’ll have your chance! Expert fisherman and owner of Great Blue Heron Outdoors, Bob Marsh, will lead us through the ins and outs of fly fishing, including equipment, the “flies” and practicing with casting a fly rod out across our lawn, too. Register by calling the library at 913-845-3281
Adults and youths 13 years old and older can register their own spot. Youths 12 years old and younger will need an adult or older teen to register and attend with them.
Coloring for adults
Want a moment to relax? Join us at 10 a.m. May 29 for a quiet morning of coloring.
During this adult coloring program, we’ll provide a wide variety of different coloring page options to select from along with gel pens and colored pencils.
Summer Reading activities for kids
The library has a packed schedule of activities this summer for kids of all ages.
On Thursday, youths can come make a kite (or bring one of their own) and fly it high in the sky with us starting at 5 p.m. There are weekly movies at 1 p.m. Tuesdays with the first movie being The Avengers. On Wednesday, May 28, children will have a chance to make their very own tie-dye bag at 1 p.m.
This craft program does require registration by calling the library at 913-845-3281. The month will finish off with a float shop for all during the Farmers Market at 5 p.m. May 29 and lasting while supplies are available.
Floats will be free to enjoy!
