Mike Stieben has won re-election again.

This time he won nearly 71% of the vote against a write-in candidate.

Stieben, a locomotive engineer with Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad, won with 2,829 votes. Tonganoxie’s Todd Lux had 1,183 votes, or about 29.4% of the vote.

Lux, a longtime Tonganoxie business owner, started a write-in campaign for Leavenworth County Commission in recent months. He owned Todd’s Tire in Tonganoxie for several years, but recently sold the business and had since entered the race against Republican incumbent Stieben in the Fifth District.

Stieben defeated Brad Noll with roughly 75% of the vote in the primaries.
