Tonganoxie Community Historical Society program is Tuesday night

Tonganoxie Community Historical Society Museum
Tonganoxie Community Historical Society’s first of two February programs will be this coming Tuesday at the TCHS campus’ barn.
Chris Carey, a military historian with a doctorate from the University of Kansas, will be at the TCHS campus to talk about the Red Ball Express.
The express was a truck convoy that supplied Allied forces after they broke out from the beaches of Normandy, France on D-Day in 1944.
Carey gave a presentation last year on the planning of D-Day at the TCHS barn. He also heads a department with Army University Press that creates films.
The meeting will start at 7 p.m. at the TCHS Fairchild-Knox Barn, 201 W. Washington St.
More information will be released about the Feb. 25 program, but it will focus on women at the center of the Brown v. Board of Education Supreme Court case.
The programs generally are the fourth Tuesday of the month, unless programs must be shuffled around, as was the case with next week’s presentation.
