McLouth High baseball season ends with loss to top-seeded Oskaloosa

The McLouth High baseball team registered a victory in its Class 2-1A regional last week in Atchison, but the Bulldogs weren’t able to knock off the top seed in the regional later that day.

No. 8 MHS defeated No. 9 Troy, 11-7, in a play-in game Wednesday, May 8, at the Benedictine College baseball stadium in Atchison. Troy ended its season at 1-12.

No. 1 Oskaloosa then shut out MHS, 10-0, after the Bulldogs defeated the Trojans. McLouth ended its year at 4-12. Oskaloosa improved to 24-3 and will play No. 4 Kansas City Christian (11-8) at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Maur Hill-Mount Academy in Atchison. No. 2 Valley Falls (15-4) faces No. 3 Pleasant Ridge (15-4) in the second semifinal game Tuesday. Semifinal winners will play in the championship later Tuesday.
