McLouth basketball teams open season

McLouth High boys basketball has one more game on the schedule before the new year.

MHS will play Thursday against Jackson Heights at home.

The Bulldogs opened the season Dec. 5 at Central Heights with a 50-45 victory and then dropped a 43-41 decision to Pleasant Ridge Dec. 9 at home before falling Friday against Jefferson West, 69-54, at home.

McLouth played Monday at Perry-Lecompton and then Tuesday at Oskaloosa. The Bulldogs lost Monday, 70-44, to the Kaws. The game Tuesday took place after The Mirror’s print deadline. MHS was 1-3 heading into play Tuesday.

MHS girls trying to crack win column

The MHS girls team was seeking its first victory of the season entering play this week.

McLouth lost, 52-26, Dec. 5 at Central Heights and then 57-7 against Pleasant Ridge on Dec. 9 at home. Jeff West also defeated MHS on Friday. The Tigers defeated the Bulldogs, 87-15.

McLouth also played Monday at Perry-Lecompton and Tuesday at Oskalosa. MHS lost, 70-13, at PLHS on Monday. The Tuesday game took place after The Mirror’s print deadline.

The season will then resume in 2026 when the Bulldogs travel Jan. 2 to Valley Falls to take on the Dragons.
