July 4 event Friday

The McLouth Independence Day celebration and Stars, Stripes & Spokes bike parade is Friday.

Everyone will meet at 10 a.m. at the high school parking lot. Bike Parade starts at 10:30 a.m. from the McLouth High School parking lot and make its way through downtown to Luse Park. The fire truck will spray water on children and there will be a waterslide in the park throughout the day. There also will be hot dogs and chips served in the park at noon. Evening fireworks festivities will take place at Stan Braksick Sports Complex. Glow sticks will be given to the first 100 youths. A patriotic girls pageant begin at 7 p.m. Organizers will crown Little Miss Firecracker (0-5), Stars and Stripes Sweetheart (6-12) and Miss Independence (13-18). The band Train Wreck Allie will play after the pageant.

McLouth’s fireworks display will begin at 9:45 p.m. No personal fireworks are allowed. Enjoy an evening of family fun sponsored by McLouth Recreation Commission, City of McLouth, McLouth Kiwanis, McLouth Fire Department, Bank of McLouth, Dan Holwick family, Rick and Beverly Muzzy, McLouth Tire and Lube, The Sweet Life, Town Clipper and McLouth Public Library.
