America 250 Patriots Day Parade is April 18

It’s going to be a “Big Day In A Small Town” with lots to celebrate in downtown McLouth.

There will be breakfast from 7-10 a.m. and lunch from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. at the fire station April 18 for the Patriots Day parade.

McLouth Public Library will feature silent auction baskets, a raffle and book sale.

There will be special musical performances between the parades:

Flint Hills Four Barbershop Quartet and the American Legion Band of Greater Kansas City Brass Ensemble will be at the event, as will the Sons of the American Revolution.

National Parks Service will exhibit about 150 weapons from 0re-Revolutionary War (1763) to roughyl 2019 from 9 a.m. -2 p.m. at the Fire Station.

Visit historical displays, McLouth Medical Health Clinic, World War II Re-Enactment, food, crafts and vendors.

The Children’s Parade lines up at 10:30 a.m. at McLouth City Hall. Children’s Parade begins at 11 a.m. Decorate your bikes and wagons, dress up in costumes and have fun.

Cubmobile Races will follow the Children’s Parade.

The main parade begins at 1 p.m. downtown.

All Veterans are invited to ride the Veterans Trolley. They should meet at Freestate Electric Cooperative parking lot on the north edge of McLouth no later than 12:30 p.m.

Main parade entries line up at noon at Stan Braksick Sports Complex on the west edge of McLouth.

There’s still time to register if you’d like to participate in the main parade.
