McLouth achieves best record since 2011 with victory against Maur Hill-Mount Academy

By Shawn F. Linenberger - | Oct 17, 2026

McLouth is now 7-0 on the season for the first time in 15 years.

MHS won, 40-7, in the regular-season home finale against Maur Hill-Mount Academy.

The Bulldogs hit the 40-point mark for the third time this season on Senior Night against the visiting Junior Ravens. MHS scored 44 against Valley Falls in Week 3 and 68 against Doniphan West in Week 5 in back-to-back shutouts under coach Seth Mills, who is in his fourth season leading McLouth. The Bulldogs last were 7-0 in 2011 when Chris Stewart was at the helm.

McLouth will be playing for a share of the Northeast Kansas League crown next Friday.

Riverside is 5-0 in NEKL play and plays a non league game next week at Royal Valley in the final week before the playoffs, so The Cyclones are guaranteed a perfect conference record.

Mclouth heads to Winchester for a clash with Jefferson County North. The Chargers are 6-1 overall and in league play. JCN opened the season with a 41-28 loss against Riverside, but has rattled off six straight victories. The Bulldogs are 5-0 in NEKL play, so a victory against JCN would give them an undefeated league record like Riverside and the teams would be co-champions. A loss at JCN would make MHS runner-up with JCN. Riverside plays in Class 2A and McLouth and JCN in 1A, so McLouth nor JCN will meet RHS in the playoffs. Both McLouth and Jeff County North are 3-0 in District 3 play heading into the regular-season finale.
