William Gerald McCaffrey, 78, Tonganoxie, died Monday, Oct. 4 at his home.

Memorial services and inurnment were held at 10 a.m., Friday Oct. 8 at Holy Angels Cemetery, Basehor, Kan. The Reverend Mark Goldasich officiated.

McCaffrey was born March 3, 1921 in Tonganoxie, the son of William and Alice (Curry) McCaffrey.

He was a World War II and Korean War veteran and was retired from the U.S. Marine Corps. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 9271 and Sacred Heart Catholic Church, both of Tonganoxie.

Survivors include one brother, John McCaffrey, Tonganoxie; five nephews and one niece.

Quisenberry Funeral Home, Tonganoxie, was in charge of arrangements.
