Seventh-graders grab win at Perry

By Staff | Feb 16, 2000

The seventh-grade boys split games with Xavier and Perry-Lecompton.

The Warriors were never really in the Xavier game. They lost 57-18.

“Xavier was on fire,” said Jim Cackler, seventh-grade boys basketball coach. “Everything they did worked to perfection, and we couldn’t get anything going for us. But, Thursday, it was our turn. We played well.”

Tonganoxie led Perry-Lecompton by three at halftime. The Warriors went on a 20-5 tear in the second half.

All nine Tonganoxie players scored. Ross Starcher led all scorers with seven points. Kirk Rodell had six, Brad Willis had six, Chris Colon four, Travis Schultz had four, Tony Aragon had four, Sam Mitchell had two, Daniel Workman had two and Michael Morris had two.

The Warriors are wrapping up their season.
