The Kaw Valley Softball League, which began play May 25, already has had its first rainout.

The B&J Apple Market-sponsored Tonganoxie team, which plays in the 13-14 age division, had its June 1 game against Bonner Springs rescheduled for 6:30 tonight, after a storm cloud dumped rain on the Leavenworth County Fairgrounds.

The team began the season by beating Edwardsville, 19-13, on May 25. It fell to Basehor, 20-3, on June 5.

Another Tonganoxie Team, Hancock Realty, had its May 25 game at Basehor rescheduled for June 9, because the game fell on Basehor-Linwood’s eighth-grade recognition day.

In the 11-12 age division, Tonganoxie’s Community National Bank team beat Lansing, 13-2, on May 25.

Later that night, the Sertoma-sponsored Tonganoxie team beat Linwood, 17-2.

Community National Bank beat the third Tonganoxie team, River City Gardening, 17-12, on June 1 and beat Linwood, 19-4, on June 5.

In the 9-10 age division, the Himpel Homes team Beat Lansing, 9-1, on May 25.

The team then lost one to in-town rival Midwest Carpet on June 5.

On June 1, the third Tonganoxie team, Rising Sun Construction, shut out Lansing team two by a score of 13-0.

In the 7-8 age division, the Tonganoxie Civic Club team beat Basehor, 10-1, on May 25.

Also on May 25, two Tonganoxie teams butted heads. Henri Masonic Lodge was victorious over Triple Creek Realty by a score of 16-1.

Triple Creek Realty bounced back on June 1, tying Bonner Springs, 6-6. Henri Masonic Lodge, however, dropped its next game, falling to Lansing, 12-5, on the same day.
