George and Colleen Anton
George and Colleen Anton of rural Tonganoxie will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on Saturday with a family get-together hosted by their children. The gathering will be at the home of Jim and Tilly Masson, DeSoto.
George Anton and the former Colleen Keller were married June 19, 1950, at St. Mark’s Episcopal Cathedral in Salt Lake City, Utah. They moved often their first few married years, because Mr. Anton was in the U.S. Air Force.
After leaving active Air Force duty, they moved to Pullman, Wash., where Mr. Anton attended graduate school.
They moved to Kansas City, Kan., in 1955 when Mr. Anton joined Trans World Airlines as a pilot. He flew for TWA for 31 years. Since his retirement, the Antons have been active in the Tonganoxie business community and currently own New Town Square on U.S. Highway 24-40.
They have been living in rural Tonganoxie since 1970.
Their children are Chris and Ray Paus of Paola, Penny and Bill Marshall, Colorado Springs, Ted and Patty Anton, Tonganoxie, and Eric and Monique Anton, Portland, Ore. They have five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
