This annual event, at the Leavenworth County Fairgrounds, provides each member of the Tonganoxie community to take pride in the fact that this important event is held in our town.

During the few days before next week’s fair, perhaps community members could take the time to look around their homes, businesses and other properties to ensure that we’re putting on the best face possible for the many out-of-town visitors who will attend the fair.

Often, the fair is the first time people do more than drive through Tonganoxie on the highway. So it’s important that the community shine for those visitors, so they’ll come back and contribute to our economy.

Welcoming visitors to our lovely, small town will help ensure they will return, to frequent our many fine restaurants, to shop at local stores and, perhaps, spend a night once the bed and breakfast opens.

The fair is an opportunity to showcase our community, and our hospitality.
