Obituary/Gloria M. Neu
Services for Gloria M. (Noah) Neu, 72, Basehor, were Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2002, at Highland Park Funeral Home in Kansas City, Kan. Burial was in Highland Park Cemetery.
Mrs. Neu died Thursday, Feb. 7, 2002, at her home. She was born June 25, 1929, in Wilsonville, Neb., and had lived in the Kansas City area since 1943.
She was co-owner and secretary for the Heartland Plumbing and Heating Company in Basehor, formerly known as Neu Plumbing and Heating. She was a member of St. Martin’s Lutheran Church, Basehor, past president of the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League at the church and had served as chairman of the Sunday school at the church. She was a member of Basehor Gold Pride and the Basehor Chamber of Commerce. She also was past president of the Basehor Parent-Teacher Association and was past president of the Basehor Historical Society. She was made honorary president after her illness.
She married Wesley Neu on Sept. 1, 1960. He survives, of the home.
Other survivors include five sons, Gregory Lee Neu, El Dorado Springs, Mo., Kelly Lee Neu and Rick Lee Neu, both of Basehor, Doug Lee Leu, Leavenworth, and Duane Lee Neu, of the home; a brother, Paul Noah, Holdridge, Neb.; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. A daughter, Arline, died in 1957.
The family suggests memorial contributions to the Basehor Historical Society, the American Diabetes Association or Leavenworth County Hospice.
