Obituary: Nedra A. Dettman
Services for Nedra A. Dettman, 78, Sac City, Iowa, were Tuesday, July 9, 2002, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Sac City, with the Rev. Mark Selby officiating. Burial was in Cory Grover Cemetery, Sac City.
Mrs. Dettman died Saturday, July 6, 2002, at her home, following a sudden illness. She was born Sept. 29, 1923, in Storm Lake, Iowa, the daughter of Everett Early and Ida Belle (Hutchins) Haradon.
She graduated from Lake View High School while working for families in the Lake View area. On June 30, 1942, she married Wilson Murley. She later married Marshall Dettman.
She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church and the church’s women’s organizations. She was a hospital telecare volunteer, a former Hospice worker and recently volunteered at the Sac City Museum.
Survivors include two sons, Dale Murley and Gary Murley, Sac City; a daughter, Karen Thevenot, Bonner Springs; 12 grandsons; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Another son, Robert Everett Murley, died when he was an infant.
