Aunt Norie’s Sewing Room

By Eleanor Mckee - | Sep 25, 2002

Anna Mary L. has some more hints for us. Run your threaded needle (before you knot the thread) through a sheet of Bounce fabric softener. It prevents the thread from tangling. Wipe your TV screen with it to stop that static cling that attracts the dust. It also helps to repel mosquitoes. Tie it on a belt loop, tuck one under your watch band, fasten to the screen door, etc.

I tried one right away Anna, for the sewing thread. (Mine is not Bounce) But I’d like to add it worked great even better than the little bar of thread wax, the old-timer I’ve used for years. So much faster and easier also. So now my little sewing basket also contains a neatly folded square of fabric softener. Thanks much Anna Mary.

Those fabric softener sheets are fibrous and very strong, we’ve had several hints and ways to use (recycle) them.

Cathy would like to pass along this ‘oldie.’ The only safe way to double your money is to fold it over and put it in your pocket.

Our teachers are right in the middle of it all. No names here by, this little guy so excited, “Gotta’ tell my grandpa, he’ll wanta know about this,” then back to her. “He really does listen to me, and he tells me lots of stuff.”

That’s one of the great things about being a grandparent, lots of time for that listening. I don’t think we can repeat often enough, listen, listen, when it comes to those little ones.

Bye for now and God bless, Love Aunt Norie, P. O. Box 265 Tonganoxie, 66086-0265.
