Obiutary: Eugene W. Zule
Services for Eugene “Gene” W. Zule, 86, Leavenworth, will be at 10 a.m. today, April 9, 2003, at Belden-Sexton-Sumpter Funeral Chapels, Leavenworth, with the Rev. Bud Jones officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memory Cemetery.
Mr. Zule died Sunday, April 6, 2003, at the University of Kansas Medical Center in Kansas City, Kan. He was born Sept. 21, 1916, in McLouth, the son of Charles W. and Pauline (Linaweaver) Zule.
He had worked for more than 25 years as a truck driver at the Goodjohns Sash and Door Company and retired as a truck driver for Wicks Lumber, where he worked for more than 10 years. He was a member of the teamsters union.
He married Vivian M. Tarr on Oct. 26, 1936, in Leavenworth. She died Dec. 6, 1992. He married Claudine Mitchell Leavitt on April 22, 1994, in Leavenworth. She survives, of the home.
Other survivors include three sons, Ronald G. Zule, Leavenworth, Charles Larry Zule, Mayetta, and Gary E. Zule, Leavenworth; a daughter, Linda G. Patterson, Meriden; a brother, Leo Daryl Zule, Nortonville; 15 grandchildren; and 27 great-grandchildren.
