Obituary: Bernard Francis Uhlrich

Services for Bernard Francis Uhlrich, 86, Tonganoxie, were Tuesday, March 18, 2003, at the United Methodist Church in Tonganoxie, with the Rev. Paul Waters officiating. Burial was in Hubbel Hill Cemetery, Tonganoxie.

Mr. Uhlrich died Friday, March 14, 2003, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital, Lawrence. He was born Feb. 28, 1917, in Springdale, the son of Frank J. and Lena (Boillet) Uhlrich. For 27 years, he owned Uhlrich Oil Company in Tonganoxie. He was a member of the Sertoma International Club and the United Methodist Church, both of Tonganoxie.

On June 27, 1941, he married Bonnie Black in Jefferson County. He and his wife had been residents of Presbyterian Manor in Lawrence since January 2000.

Survivors include his wife, of the home; a son, James Uhlrich, Edwardsville; a daughter, Cheryl Packard, Lawrence; a sister, Sister Ellentia Uhlrich, Leavenworth; and three grandchildren. A son, Francis, and a grandson, David, preceded him in death.

The family suggests memorial contributions to the church.
