Obituary: Charles Calvin Crain

Services for Charles “Charlie” Calvin Crain, 79, Kansas City, Kan., were Saturday, March 15, 2003, at the United Methodist Church in Tonganoxie. Burial was in Hubbel Hill Cemetery, Tonganoxie.

Mr. Crain died Wednesday, March 12, 2003, at Specialty Hospital of Mid America, Overland Park.

He was born July 21, 1923, in Tarkio, Mo., the son of James F. and Anna Mae (Beavers) Crain.

He moved in 1957 to Kansas City, Kan., where he worked as a contractor and later moved into the trucking industry. He helped establish a family-owned business in 1965 that is now known as Anchor Trucking, Kansas City, Kan.

Survivors include a son, Jim Crain, Tonganoxie; three daughters, Joy Murr, McLouth, Ginger Wehner, Lawrence, and Jackie Crain, Tonganoxie; and five grandchildren.
