The obstacle came in the form of a five-run second inning by No. 5 Lansing. The Lions added another run in the third and had a 6-0 lead before the Chieftains responded with a run in the bottom of the third.

Tonganoxie wouldn’t get any closer as the Lions won the game against No. 5 THS, 8-1. The Chieftains committed five errors in the loss.

Katie Jeannin went 1-for-3 with an RBI and Michelle McWilliams scored the only run. She went 1-for-2 on the day.

Tonganoxie finished the season at 11-10. Seniors lost to graduation were Jessica Pearson, Laura Korb, Karley Bennett and Laura Samuels
