Aunt Norie’s Sewing Room
Here’s another curtain idea. This one’s from Nancy. “I like new or different curtains as we’re always looking out of windows. I think of my curtains as framing the scene of my ever-changing view of the outside world. And, my fun back yard these days full of kids, my own and their friends. They are growing up all too quickly and I know one of these days that yard will be so empty. I now just frame that window with draw drapes so that I can open them wide and watch them play.”
She wanted today to share about her bathroom window curtains. She changes them often also, but just that one window is not a huge expense, regardless of the window treatment.
“One of my favorite tricks is to make a valance, with frills or floral or stripes. Then on a lower rod, baste a channel on one end of a pair of small towels for threading on the rod to gather. Changing towels for color then is easy.”
Thanks for some great tips, Nancy. Right now, I have pink ruffles framing my neighbors beautiful red bud tree in full bloom on the curtain above my desk and my bird bath, then comes a lilac bush about to bloom. My yard was once full of children, both ours and our neighbors’. Yes time flies and we wouldn’t have it any other way would we.
Bill Cosby in his commencement speech at Hampton University, said “People say, ‘God will find a way, but God can’t find a way if you’re in the way.'”
God Bless.
