Obituary: William Dee Jarrett Jr.

Services for William Dee Jarrett Jr., 66, Lawrence, were Monday, Dec. 19, 2005, at West Haven Baptist Church, Tonganoxie. Cremation with private inurnment followed.

Mr. Jarrett died Dec. 12, 2005, at his home. He was born Feb. 5, 1939, in Douglas County, the son of William D. and Gladys (Bell) Jarrett.

He retired in 1995 from Kansas Power and Light Company (Westar Energy). He served in the U.S. Army and was a member of First Baptist Church, Tonganoxie, and Western Star Masonic Lodge AF & AM, Lawrence. A daughter, Kimberly Vonzelle Matthews, preceded him in death.

Survivors include a son, D. Dominic Jarrett, Norman, Okla.; a daughter, Denise Michelle Thomas, Reidsville, N.C.; several stepsons and stepdaughters; three brothers, Charles Lewis Jarrett, Lawrence, Jackson Eric Jarrett, Tonganoxie, and Timothy Jay Jarrett, San Diego; 11 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
