Obituary: Goldie L. Bissonette Knudsen
Services for Goldie L. Bissonette Knudsen, 65, Tonganoxie, were Saturday, July 23, 2005, at Wellsville Baptist Church. Burial will be in Wellsville City Cemetery.
Mrs. Knudsen died Monday, July 18, 2005, at her home. She was born Oct. 5, 1939, in Kansas City, Kan., the daughter of Orla Nelson and Irene Alma Detrick Potter. She had lived in Tonganoxie since 1988.
Mrs. Knudsen worked as a cook and custodian at Wellsville High School for many years. She volunteered as a marshall at Tomahawk Hills Gold Course in Shawnee. She was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Auxiliary No. 4015 in Oskaloosa, American Legion Auxiliary No. 225 in Ozawkie and Tomahawk Hills Women’s Golf Assn. She was an active retiree at River Ranch Resort in Rio Hondo, Texas.
She married Kenneth LeRoy Bissonette on Dec. 13, 1961. He died April 5, 1979. She married Robert H. Knudsen on June 18, 1988, in Tonganoxie. He survives, of the home.
Other survivors include two sons, Bill Bayles, McLouth, and C. Norman Bissonette, Gardner; two daughters, Diane Moss, Wellsville, and Penney Bissonette, McLouth; a stepson, Lee Knudsen, Ottawa; two stepdaughters, Lisa Harkrader and Heather Shoemaker, both of Tonganoxie; two brothers, Tom Abramovitz, Valley Falls, and Ralph Abramovitz, Tonganoxie; five sisters, Betty Harmon, Belleville, Pa.; Florence Courtney and Mary Louise Peters, both of McLouth, Mary Lucille Heintzelman, Leavenworth, and Gladys Capesius, Oskaloosa; 16 grandchildren; and three great-granddaughters.
