Obituary: Stanley “Stan” W. Braksick

Services for Stanley W. “Stan” Braksick, 81, McLouth, were Saturday, Feb. 4, 2006, at McLouth United Methodist Church. Burial was in McLouth Cemetery.

Mr. Braksick died last Wednesday, Feb. 1, 2006, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital. He was born Feb. 15, 1924, in Napoleon, Mo., the son of John William and Olinda Niendick Braksick. He graduated from high school in Lexington, Mo., in 1942 and later graduated from AIB Banking School.

Mr. Braksick worked in banking for 59 years. He worked at City National Bank of Kansas City, Mo. He purchased the Bank of McLouth in 1961 and served as its chairman of the board.

He was a member of the McLouth United Methodist Church and had belonged to McLouth Kiwanis Club for 45 years. He also was a member of the Kansas and American Bankers Associations. He served as treasurer for McLouth school district and was a past board member at Jefferson County Memorial Hospital.

He married Fern Helena Laumeier on June 21, 1947, in Napoleon, Mo. She survives, of the home.

Other survivors include a son, Robert S. Braksick, McLouth; a daughter, Kathy Scott, McLouth; a sister, Lora Louise Stark, Napoleon, Mo.; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
