Obituary: Charles F. Swedo Jr.

Funeral services for Charles F. Swedo Jr., 62, Tonganoxie, were Monday, July 3, 2006, at Sacred Hearth Catholic Church in Tonganoxie. Burial was in the Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Kansas City, Kan.

Mr. Swedo died Wednesday, June 28, 2006, at his home near Tonganoxie. He was born Feb. 15, 1944, in Kansas City, Kan.

He graduated from Bishop Ward High School and attended Donnelly College. He and his wife Sandy and their family owned and operated the Bonner Springs Thriftway for 25 years before retiring.

Survivors include his wife, Sandy, of the home; a son, Richard Swedo, of the home; and a daughter Dana Swedo-Bernal, Kansas City, Kan.; his mother, Emily Swedo of Shawnee; a sister, Carolyn Prince, Shawnee; and four grandchildren.
