Joan Yvonne Ellerman Robinson
Private graveside services for Joan Yvonne Ellerman Robinson, 67, Nortonville, were Thursday, March 29, at Oak Hill Cemetery in Leavenworth County.
Mrs. Robinson died Monday, March 26, 2007, at University of Kansas Hospital, Kansas City, Kan.
She was born May 1, 1939, in Nortonville, the daughter of Catherine Irene Locklin and Noble Levi Ellerman.
She attended Ellerman School east of Nortonville for seven years. She graduated from eighth grade at Nortonville Grade School. In 1956, she graduated from Nortonville High School.
Mrs. Robinson worked as a clerk at First National Bank in Nortonville from 1956 to 1960.
After her youngest daughter went to school, Mrs. Robinson worked in inventory at Potts Implement for two winters. On Sept. 4, 1979, she started work at Nortonville Pharmacy as a clerk and “soda jerk,” and she continued until the store closed March 31, 1999.
She married Harold Lee Robinson of Easton on May 10, 1959, at Nortonville Pleasant Grove Christian Church. He survives of the home.
Other survivors include two daughters, Denise Lynne Bixby, Tonganoxie, and Denene Lovee Carnes, Twin Lake, Minn.; a son, Darrin Luke Robinson, Nortonville; and four grandchildren.
A granddaughter, Amanda Kate Bixby, died Feb. 14, 2007.
