Obituary: Carl L. Holmberg

Memorial services for Carl L. Holmberg, 96, formerly of Tonganoxie, will be at 10:30 a.m. today, Wednesday, April 4, at First Baptist Church in La Feria, Texas.

Mr. Holmberg died Sunday, April 1, 2007, at his home in Harlingen, Texas.

He was born Dec. 20, 1910, in Wayne, the son of Charles and Anna Holmberg. He had been a winter visitor to the Harlingen area since the early 1970s and became a permanent resident in 1997. He formerly lived in Tonganoxie and Cuba, Kan. Mr. Holmberg was a member of First Baptist Church in La Feria.

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Holmberg, of the home; three daughters, Phyllis Levy, Walnut Creek, Calif., Marilyn Gallagher, Memphis, Tenn., and Victoria Cherin, Pittsburgh; eight grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
