Obituary: Delbert E. Bryant
Graveside services for Delbert E. Bryant, 71, rural Oskaloosa, were Monday in Mount Sidney Cemetery in Linwood.
Mr. Bryant died Wednesday, Feb. 7, 2007, at his home.
He was born June 6, 1935, in Linwood, the son of Francis Eugene and Ruth Marie Zimmerlin Bryant. He lived in the Oskaloosa area for 33 years.
Mr. Bryant was a construction worker and heavy-equipment operator for Hamm’s Quarries and Construction in Perry for more than 27 years and retired for medical reasons in 1987. He was a member of the Operator’s Union Local 1290 in Topeka.
He married Kaye Hale on May 18, 1960, in Miami, Okla. She survives, of the home.
Other survivors include two sons, Dale, Smithville, Mo., and Mark, Lansing; a daughter, Sheila Johnson, Nortonville; a brother, John, Lawrence; three sisters, Velma Martin, Wamego, Eva Nichols, Pomona, and Stella Puckett, McLouth; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Mr. Bryant was preceded in death by twin daughters, Linda Ann and Glenda Marie Bryant.
