Obituary: Shirley Sween

No services are planned for Shirley Sween, 85, Bonner Springs, who died Wednesday, June 13, 2007, at Kansas City Hospice Home in Kansas City, Mo. She was cremated.

Mrs. Sween was born Jan. 20, 1922, in Garretson, S.D., the daughter of Lawrence and Mable Williamson Shafer.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Goodwin “Duke” Sween.

Survivors include a daughter, Jann Merando, Valley Falls; two sons, Richard Sween, Huson, Mont., and Donald Sween, Overland Park; a sister, June Geiver, Sioux Falls, S.D.; and nine grandchildren.

Quisenberry Funeral Home in Tonganoxie was in charge of arrangements.
