Harold A. Putthoff
A funeral Mass for Harold A. Putthoff, 83, Tonganoxie, was Monday, Nov. 5, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Tonganoxie. Burial was in Sacred Heart Cemetery.
Mr. Putthoff, died Saturday, Nov. 3, 2007, at St. Luke’s Hospital, Kansas City, Mo.
He was born Feb. 16, 1924, in Montrose, Mo., the son of Edward and Josephine (Arens) Putthoff.
He owned a service station and towing service in Bonner Springs and retired as water and sewer superintendent for the city of Tonganoxie.
Mr. Putthoff was a World War II Army veteran. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and had been a Boy Scout leader.
He was a charter member of the Historical Society, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 9271 and Knights of Columbus Council 11352, all of Tonganoxie, and belonged to the Fourth Degree Pope John Paul II Council 2461, Lawrence.
On June 23, 1956, he married Connie Dobson at Sacred Heart Church, Tonganoxie. She survives, of the home.
Other survivors include three sons, Stanley, Fulton, Mo., Terry, Parkville, Mo., and Kerry, Tonganoxie; a daughter, Cindy, Summerville, S.C.; a brother, Jimmy, Lawrence; 15 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
