Winter storm exptected to start Monday night
The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm watch for Leavenworth and Platte counties.
The weather service expects significant winter weather starting Monday night.
“A potent winter storm system will move across the area Monday night through Wednesday morning,” the weather service states. “This system is expected to produce widespread accumulating snow.”
Six inches of snow is possible across northern Missouri and northeast Kansas.
The weather service states that visibility may be significantly reduced as blowing snow moves into the area Tuesday evening.
