The season is on the line for Tonganoxie Post 41 at Jaycee Ballpark in Pittsburg this morning.

After pulling off a 4-3 victory against Atchision in the first round of the Kansas AAA Legioin baseball tournament on Wednesday, Post 41 (21-11) was pummeled by the Lawrence Raiders, 24-2, in the second round of the double-elimination tournament Thursday evening.

Starting at 10 a.m., Tonganoxie will take on Newton and the loser will be eliminated.

Of the eight teams that made it to the state tournament, only six remain entering Friday. Atchison and Winfield were sent packing, Lawrence and Manhattan are 2-0 heading into a 5 p.m. semifinal this evening and Tonganoxie, Newton, Hays and Pittsburg are battling in the consolation bracket to stay alive.
