The annual meeting of Fall Creek Cemetery Corporation will be 2 p.m. Saturday, March 14 at Alexandria Township Fire Station in Springdale.

Julia Carter of Iola came Wednesday to pick up Shianne, who had been staying with her father in Leavenworth. They stayed Wednesday night with Thamar Barnett and returned Thursday to Iola.

Charlie and Cindy Nussbaum of Topeka visited Bid Sheppard on Sunday.

Bid Sheppard wants to thank everyone for their best wishes for her 97th birthday. She received cards, calls, visitors, parties and was taken out to eat. She appreciates everything very much.

Visitors Saturday afternoon at Thamar Barnett’s home were Paul and Lynn Heskett, Kody, Michelle and Isaac of Moran, David and Jane Turner, Kathy Stimac and Ronnie Mooberry. At 7 p.m. that night, they all went to Old Chicago in Overland Park for an engagement party for Derek Barnett and Luci Woton. There were a lot of relatives and friends of the couple there.
