Pastor’s Corner
Revelation 1:4 says: “Grace to you and peace, from him who is and who was and who is to come.”
In the midst of the turmoil and conflict of these days, it’s a comfort to know that grace and peace are available. Now there won’t be perfect peace on earth until the Prince of Peace comes to rule and reign.
Of that day, Isaiah 11:6 says: “And the wolf will dwell with the lamb. And the leopard will lie down with the young goat. And the calf and the young lion and the fatling together. And a little boy will lead them.”
Until that day comes, you may not have peace around you but you can have peace within you.
The Bible calls it the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding. That peace comes through God’s grace. Grace is the prerequisite to peace. Without God’s grace, there would be no peace. You can have peace, once you experience His grace.
What is God’s grace? It is God’s unearned favor.
He died on the cross, shed his red blood and rose again so he could extend to you the total, complete, 100 percent forgiveness of sin. It is available to every human being but you can’t earn his grace. No work is worthy of it. Neither can you buy His grace. You don’t own the currency of heaven.
You are a sinner before God. There is nothing in you that is deserving of his forgiveness but he gives it anyway. That’s why it’s grace. God has sent his grace to you by sending Jesus to die for you. Have you appropriated that grace?
