Julia Carter and Shianne, of Iola, spent the weekend with Thamar Barnett. They were in the area to attend the wedding of Derek Barnett and Luci Wotonn at Unity Village in Lee’s Summit, Mo. Others from this area attending were David and Jane Turner and Kathy Stimac. Barnett recently was promoted to the rank of Chief Petty Officer in the Navy. A reception followed the wedding. The wedding was in the rose garden.

Bill Selkirk and Bill Selkirk Jr., of Mattawan, Mich., visited Bid Sheppard and Kathy Powers on Sept. 26. On Saturday, Joyce Simmons, of Seymour, Mo., visited Sheppard.
