THS grad finishes Coast Guard leadership school
Petty Officer Jordan McCarty, of the U.S. Coast Guard, a 2003 THS graduate, successfully completed the U.S. Coast Guard’s Leadership and Management School in Petaluma, Calif.
The school is designed to groom future leaders of the U.S. Coast Guard for filing supervisory roles. McCarty is a Marine science technician serving in the Port of Los Angeles-Long Beach and has received orders to attend the Cruise Ship Inspection School in South Beach, Miami, Fla., at the end of October 2009.
The cruise ship school trains inspectors on how to identify safety defects and violations of U.S. and international laws.
