KVL football report: Week Eight

A Kaw Valley League championship is at stake this week for Basehor-Linwood.

The Bobcats improved to 6-1 in the league and 7-1 overall with a 34-21 victory over Bishop Ward on Friday.

BLHS already has locked up a berth in the Class 4A state playoffs, but the Bobcats need a victory Thursday at Piper to win both a district title and a league championship.

Both BLHS and Piper already have locked up playoff berths.

Other teams to also secure playoff berths are Turner and Mill Valley in Class 5A. Bonner Springs and Lansing could do the same on Friday.
