The Tonganoxie High soccer team played well but lost its first road contest of the season to undefeated Perry-Lecompton on Thursday.

Tyler Bartholomew scored a goal for the Chieftains but the Kaws scored twice for a 2-1 victory.

The defense for THS (1-2-1) was solid throughout the match and the offense had a couple of shots misfire off the crossbar.

Tonganoxie will be back on the road Tuesday for a 4 p.m. match at Turner before returning home on Wednesday for a 6 p.m. contest with Piper.
