Tonganoxie softball to play AHS in 1st round
The Tonganoxie High softball team hasn’t played in a week, but its next trip to the diamond will be for a big game.
After their regular season finale against Santa Fe Trail was canceled this week due to weather and poor field conditions, the Chieftains now know who they will play in the first round of a Class 4A regional tournament at Atchison.
THS (8-10) received the seven seed in the tournament and will play second seed, and host, Atchison (11-5) on Monday at 6:30 p.m. at Atchison Sports Complex’s Field 4.
A victory Monday would put Tonganoxie in a semifinal, which would be played Tuesday at 4:45 p.m. The bracket’s final is scheduled to follow the semifinals at about 6:30 p.m.
