The Jaunty Jarbalonians chapter of the Red Hat Society met Saturday, March 19 at The Corner Pharmacy in Leavenworth for lunch. They then went to Quilters Quarters across the street, where they made some purchases.

Those there were Linda Barry, Lynn Paul, Jane Turner and Thamar Barnett.

Saturday afternoon David and Jane Turner and Thamar Barnett went to Topeka to the apartment of Jared Barnett, where there was a celebration for his 30th birthday. There were a number of relatives and friends there.

Michelle and Isaac Heskett of Moran spent part of their spring break with David and Jane Turner, who helped them with their 4-H leather projects. They stayed with Thamar Barnett at night.

Ryan Powers of Globe, Ariz., spent part of his spring break from the University of Arizona with his grandmother, Kathy Powers. On March 17, Kathy had a dinner for him with Sid and Karen Sheppard of Topeka and Bid Sheppard. Karen and Kathy then took him to Kansas City International Airport. Ryan had spent time with Bid while here.

Kenny and Wanda Jeannin and Frances Jeannin attended the wedding of Frances’ grandson, Scott Hedge, and Pam Andrews March 19 at the Memorial Chapel at Fort Leavenworth. A reception took place at June’s Cottage in Leavenworth.

Orville and Rosie Oelschlaeger, Marilyn Oxley and Christine Black went to the visitation for Ruth and Guise on March 20 at Amos Family Funeral Home on Johnson Drive. Ruth Ann was the daughter of Ed and Ruth Bleam.

On March 17, Orville and Rosie Oelschlaeger went to the Golden Eagle Casino in Horton and had lunch with Rosie’s brother and his wife, Gene and Edna Sawyer.

Orville and Rosie Oelschlaeger ate with the Red Rover Camping Club on March 19 at Perkins in Lawrence.
