THS volleyball sweeps Turner for second win
The Tonganoxie High volleyball team picked up its second win in as many days with a sweep of Kaw Valley League opponent Turner Tuesday in the THS gymnasium.
The Chieftains (2-0) defeated the Golden Bears by scores of 25-8, 25-18 and 25-17. Senior Jenny Whitledge led the team with 16 kills while fellow senior Maddie Walker added eight. Junior Marissa Martin had a team-high 11 digs.
THS will play its third match of the week when it travels Thursday to Paola. The freshman team will open competition at 5 p.m.
