Katelyn Volk graduated in May from the University of Missouri-St. Louis College of Optometry.

Volk, the daughter of Kenneth and Wanda Jeannin of Tonganoxie, earned a bachelor’s degree in health science in 2008 from Truman State University in Kirksville, Mo. While a student at UM-St. Louis, Jeannin was a member of the American Optometric Student Association, Kansas Optometric Association, Beta Sigma Kappa, Fellowship of Christian Optometrists and was a student volunteer with Optometric Services to Humanity.

Volk plans to join a practice in Kansas.
