Local races to be decided with Tuesday’s election
One local race will be contested in Tuesday’s election.
Incumbent Kris Grinter will face challenger Michelle McGhee in the Tonganoxie USD 464 School Board Position 6 race.
Grinter, the current school board president, is bookkeeper for Jim Grinter Farms near Tonganoxie. McGhee is a data security risk manager at Sprint.
The remaining candidates all currently hold positions on the school board and Tonganoxie City Council. Running unopposed for City Council are Andy Gilner, Jim Truesdell and Chris Donnelly. For school board, incumbents Dan Hopkins and Kay Smith are running unopposed.
Polls are open 7 a.m.-7 p.m. Tuesday. Results from Tuesday’s election will be released after The Mirror’s print deadline, but results can be found next week online at tonganoxiemirror.com, where a list of polling places can also be found.
