Girls soccer draws Maranatha in regional opener
The Tonganoxie High girls soccer team has received the No. 6 seed in the Class 4-1A northeast regional bracket, released Saturday by the Kansas State High School Activities Association.
The Chieftains (7-7) will host No. 11 Maranatha Academy (3-8) at 5 p.m. Tuesday in opening-round action. The winner of Tuesday’s game will travel Thursday to third-seeded Sumner Academy (5-2-3) for a shot at a regional title.
THS, a state semifinalist last season, did not play Maranatha or Sumner in the regular season.
