The Chieftains (1-2) trailed by just two goals in a rematch of last year’s state quarterfinal meeting, but couldn’t keep up after the break. They got their only goal on a free kick by senior Madison Simmons.

The junior varsity team scored its first victory of the season with a 1-0 win. It is now 1-0-2 on the season.

THS will wrap up its four-game road trip Friday with a Kaw Valley League clash at Lansing. The JV squad will start things off at 4:30 p.m. and the varsity game will immediately follow.
