A family reunion of sorts took place Saturday at Tonganoxie High, as 34 Chieftain soccer alumni returned to the high school field for a preseason scrimmage.

The game, which featured grads from 2004 to 2014, ended in a 3-3 tie. The green team got goals from 2014 grad Dylan Olson and 2013 grads Matt Saathoff and Jared Colgrove. The blue team answered with goals by 2010 grad Tyler Woolworth, 2013 grad Keaton Truesdell and THS boys coach Brian Kroll. Kroll scored the final goal of the game off an assist from his brother and assistant coach, Alan Kroll.

The event is now known as the Courtney King alumni game and will be played annually between Aug. 1 and 10. Money raised at the game will benefit Courtney King, a 2004 THS grad with stage four Parkinson’s disease. To make a donation, contact Kroll at 303-406-1426.
