The Bobcats (5-1, 4-0 KVL) led by 11 at halftime, 41-30, and opened the third quarter on an 8-2 run to eliminate any thoughts of a comeback attempt. The Chieftains (2-3, 1-3) couldn’t find an answer down the stretch, as the deficit grew to as many as 21 in the fourth quarter.

Patrick Muldoon and Tim Sanders joined Younger and McNabb in double figures with 15 and 11 points, respectively. Tonganoxie’s Jack Dale led all scorers with 21 points.

Both teams will hit the road Tuesday for more league action. BLHS will head to Mill Valley, while THS will take on Bonner Springs.

A 12-1, game-opening run set the tone early as the BLHS girls won their second league game in a row.

The Bobcats (4-2, 3-1 KVL) limited their rivals to just four first-half field goals and took a 30-14 lead into the locker room at halftime. The Chieftains (2-3, 1-3) managed just a single point in the third quarter as BLHS extended its lead to 20 by the end of the period.

Victoria Smith and Marriah Clayton paced the Bobcats with 10 points each. Tonganoxie’s Kara Banks also reached double figures with 10. As a team, THS went just 17-of-37 from the free throw line.
