The team of Celeste Bartels and Halston Field, as well as the team of Josh Lingo and Monica Maurer turned in fourth-place finishes in two-speaker debate for Class 4A. The four-speaker team of Austin Harris, Emma DeMaranville, Jonathan Irwin Lauren Harrell also placed fourth. Dawson Jones and Thomas Ford were alternates.

Tonganoxie also was one of eight teams to qualify for state in four-speaker, but did not finish in the top three. El Dorado placed first, Sumner Academy second and Louisburg third in four-speaker debate at this year’s tournament. Fort Scott won the two-speaker title in 4A.
