THS boys soccer finishes summer league
Roeland Park ? The Tonganoxie High boys soccer team wrapped up its 2014 Mo-Kan Champions League schedule last week at Bishop Miege.
The Chieftains, who were new to the league this summer, had two teams in action every Monday and Tuesday in June. Teams got three points for each win and one point for each tie. The varsity team took fourth out of 12 teams with a 6-3-1 record (19 points), while the junior varsity squad finished eighth with a 4-6 mark (12 points).
The KCK Knights and host school Miege’s varsity team tied for the league championship with identical 9-1 records (27 points).
THS returns several key contributors off last year’s varsity squad, which went 7-11 and reached the regional finals for the fifth consecutive season.
