MHS football drops finale at Maur Hill
The McLouth High football team trailed by 13 points at halftime and couldn’t recover in a 26-13, season-ending loss to Maur Hill-Mount Academy on Friday in Atchison.
Following the loss, the Bulldogs (4-5, 1-2 Class 3A district 3) will miss the playoffs for the first time since 2011. Meanwhile, the Ravens (7-2, 3-0) won a district title and hosted district 4 runner-up Silver Lake in Tuesday’s bi-district round.
The Bulldogs’ 4-5 record marks their first losing season since going 3-6 in 2010. They went a combined 23-7 in the last three seasons and won district titles in 2012 and 2013.
